I see a "KG" emblem but have no idea how you'd go about getting one.

I've got the same one, it came with my 750. I only mount it on the bike for long trips. I have a Joe Rocket sportbike tail bag that fits perfectly on it.

I also use a TourMaster magnetic tank bag. I also have a couple mini bungee nets- those are great for keeping a rolled up sleeping bag, etc. contained!

hi, lloyd.  long time no talk.

the current sale/coupon price was $39.99, reg. price $59.99.  and if you know your harbor freight, if it ain't on sale today, it'll be on sale tomorrow.  and they're good with after-the-fact price adjustments if you pay attention over time....

Hi Jon,

Have you seen those cases in person?
They look sorta like copies of Pelican cases I had considered at one time.
I already have one Pelican case (came as part of a deal)  But, it is bigger than the one at HF.

Still have to make a mount bracket, though.  And, relocate the turn sigs.

The harbor freight box looks like the hinge is on the bottom and the side opens downward.  Is that right?

I bet there is a way to get a pair of givis on one of these bikes by starting with a Happy Trails kit and some cutting/welding to make it bolt to the frame. It might be difficult to get the bags mounted in front of the centerline of the rear wheel.  Too much weight too far back would probably affect handling negatively.

I think them back racks or sissybars are really good for holding a cooler!. I used to carry an Oscar cooler and live out of it on the road.. a block of ice every day & 1/2.. and always have cold drinks and some food.. nothing like stopping in a nice place and having a nice cold beer..

I built bags out of leather that started out as throwovers on the CB..sewed them by hand.. then I made metal shelfs & mounts and they fit on the axle adjusters on my Amen frame.. 5 minute to take them off. Managed to mount one on my CB last year after I made a few brackets..

Sure miss my Krausers off the R100RT sometimes, thought I saw a set on a CB 650 a long time ago..nice system..

I have a set of the leather throw over type. However, they seemed to flop around and I couldn't find a place to secure the bottom ties except the shock spring. I have ordered a set of supports on eBay that a guy makes himself. They look pretty good and I'll report further when they get here. Meanwhile, here is the eBay number:    Item number: 320225481810

I only have one of them. When I use it, I just bungee it to the luggage rack or seat.  If I had two, I'd make mounting brackets for them.

A side issue is the multiple bike thing.  Sometimes, you need luggage on a bike not currently equipped. ::)

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

That golf cart is great. I thought I tried everything to get just one club to the range once a week. I'll have to rig something up myself.

My bike came with some old bates bags the PO had got and never installed because they were'nt meant for t he bike/he didn't have a bracket.

I ghetto mounted them and they work great.  Mostly waterproof and lockable.  I have a nice luggage rack sitting in the garage too, but the bags won't let me mount them both.

I am seriously considering getting a couple of these mounted up to the 550- didnt know they made top loading pelicans.  that is if someone wants a good deal on the oxford bags i bought very recently- only used them on one short trip- so I would have the cash to sink into it.  ;D

I had an old US Navy gas mask bag that I looped the strap under the seat before latching it down. It held up to the elements pretty well, the price was right, and it looked right at home on the old beast.
Otherwise, Lowe Alpine makes a mean mountaineering pack.

I've been looking for something also.  Here's what I've been using for a couple weeks and I'm liking them.  They're bicycle panniers.  There's a loop on the back that attaches to the shock, then up top, I ran a nylon strap to connect them and just tied a knot under the seat.  They're quick to take on and off, offer alot of storage and don't get in the way.

When I bought my 1978 K it had an old set of Willie and Max bags.
A few new studs, a coat of doc Bailey's and good as new.  :D They are attached with tie straps/click straps on the grab bar. ;)

only a backpack for me... not sure if you've ever noticed the tank pad on my bike but that rules out a bag for the tank.
i've carried a sleeping bag on the back of the hump of the seat, kindof on the blinkers, mostly on the brake/tail light... once.

That's mine. It has a topcase, screwed in, as it is a daily runner, so it's very handy city-wise. Side-cases are "period" style, but actually they are originals from 80's Looks great, and it's very functional.

I bought these saddlebags on ebay some time ago. They are made of fiberglass, and they are designed to fit sohc hondas mufflers, but they give the bike a harley look that I don't like.
