How does it fit to the tank? as there are 2 possibilities
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Hmm, I won't be home again to take a closer look at it until Wednesday... do you mean where it's located or are their differences in the fasteners?

Check out the parts fische on the following site:

Change the year and or model if your tank isn't set up the same way. My 76 CB550 has a tank from a 74 Cb500 so I had a heck of a time trying to find the correct petcock.

Good luck.

Unfortunately I've tried them and they don't have any in stock. Have a salvage parts co trying to get one for me.

One type is held on by two screws inside the removeable bowl and the other screws onto a threaded stub and there are two different thread diameters

Ya I have one that did not fit my new tank.  It was off my 78 cb550k tank.  If it fits you can have it for the price of shipping.

  • If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's electrical

So, what's wrong with yours? If its leaking, all of the necessary gaskets to fix it are still available from Honda.
