Came to the top of a steep hill and had to pass the slow car in front of me  ::), then sped down the hill, wondering why cars coming towards me (ok I was overtaking at the time and so technically was in their lane) were flashing their lights at me....got to the bottom of the hill and saw 2 traffic cops, one was in the middle of the road with his hand out telling me to stop....I was going too fast....pulled level with the cop....made a split decision (the wrong one) and snapped the throttle and sped off....overtaking more cars to get out of their fast.....wow what an adrenaline rush....

.....went back home 30 mins later, turned the corner to my house and there they were waiting for me....2 traffic cops on BMWs (this was Scotland)....as I pulled up and got off the bike...they said "you are in deep s*&t now sonny"  ::) 8).....I lost my license for 6 months for that.....so I came to America to work at a summer camp in NY state and bought a bike (CB750K5) for the summer instead and rode x-country  ;D

cheers
Andy

We left out,

Broke main throttle cable, so switched to return cable..which is OK till you get cocky.. and try to spin the tire & then forget your throttle is reversed :o   :o   ;D

Now that was funny to watch..

It took about 1/2 hour to sort out, they never searched me, or my friends microbus that was following (thank god). I surrendered the bike (74? CB450 I had bought 2 days before the trip) got handed a stack of tickets, and was told to get the $#%^$ out of Utah ASAP, and climbed into the bus and never looked back. Anyone in Utah buy a nice low mileage 450 at Police auction back around 1989?
That was a fun trip....

When I saw this thread I was time warped back to the '70s and thought I was reading one of Ed Hertfelders 'Duct Tape' stories. You GHOF's out there will know what I'm talking about.

Picked up a random girl at the side of the road
Picked up a random girl at a cafe in Mexico who turned out to be a prostitute  ;D  ::)
Picked up a 18yr old Norwegian girl wearing hotpants and a tight tank top in Oaxca, Mexico and on the first day of riding through the Tequilia region got a front tire punture at 70mph  ::)

.....again with the hot (and maybe not so hot) biker chicks, Andy!! ::) ::) Does it ever end?

Apart of few others..
I go into a bar on my CB about twice a year - there's this Biker's bar where when a meet is held, you park your bikes inside... http://www.jaskinia.pl/bikerschoice/index.html there are "special" burnout marks on teh floor with plaques who did it on what bike...
Went skiing on a bike - I did it quite often when I was younger - tyring to do it springtime, when the road was black, but it happened few times that i did last mile on the snow...with shaking hands...  ;D
Welcome to my mountains!

Toured - Yeah, all over the place.

Road raced - AHMRA #753, Historic Production Heavyweight.

Drag raced - Not in any kind of sanctioned thing, no.

Hill climbed - Maybe someday.  Not sure I'm brave enough.

Ridden off road - Yep.

on ice - Yep.  Gonna try it with studded tires some time.

on salt - Does Chicago in the winter count?

ridden to another country - Does Canada count?

Laid one down and walked away from it - Ran back to it, got it off the track.

Blown an engine - fragged a clutch coming back from Canada, melted a piston on the same spot a year later.

Did a wheelie - several times.

Wheelied over backwards - got close on the green flag at GingerMan last year.

Did a burnout - Yep.

Did a stoppie :o - Dual disc conversion is the best time and effort you can spend.

Entered one in a custom show - Yes.

Ridden with 3 or more people on it - 5 but it wasn't my bike.

Towed a bike or been towed - towed, been towed, you name it.

Skidded a log or hauled firewood - firewood, beer, groceries...

Ran out of gas - that's when I learned what the RES thing meant.

Had a flat tire out on the road - several times.

Been hit by another bike - Turn 9 at Grattan, 2006.

Hit a dog, cat, snake, cow, moose, bear, or bird. - Killed a fox once.  Got hit by a bird once - that's the one that convinced me to start wearing helmets.

Chased but got caught - The SIU police have no sense of humor whatsoever.

Steal a bike or hotwire one - I've hotwired a few but only because the keys were long gone.

Make your bike backfire just to see something JUMP ;D - See my comments re: SIU police.

Ridden into a bar or through a building - The first bar wouldn't let us so we went to another bar.

Gone thru a tunnel & not blown your horn - Fiamm makes some loud stuff.

Rode no hands for a mile.
Almost laid it down after hitting a pile of horsesh1t.
Rode it the through the interior of six NYC Subway Cars.
Dedicated to Sgt. Howard Bruckner 1950 - 1969. KIA LONG KHANH.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?
