I was visiting my wreckers on the way home last night, he recently downsized from two business units to now one.. He threw out - and I didn't know it several complete exhaust systems (straight to the recyclers)......some months ago... I didn't get the chance to look through them...and take any that I wanted or thought I could use (or sell)...
Well - the business opposite (car /hot rod shop) last night had about twenty exhaust systems sitting outside (they were throwing them out) they picked through the previous throw out of the wreckers....now they were tossing them out - had a quick look - saw about six or seven that looked like they would work on sohc 750's... (and found a few WALKER systems - unpainted ones)
Did the right thing and mentioned to the owner of the hot rod shop I wouldn't mind having a pick through - he said help yourself - I said thanks - and went back with my truck at lunchtime today (I just finished work)..
In the driveway is a guy in a car & trailer with all the exhausts thrown in it - off to the scrap metal merchant... I block his exit, and then quickly make a deal with him for some headers - 3 sets for $10... all are new but need a derust (light surface only) and a paint or chrome or whatever.. he would not rummage through to get the full systems out of the bottom of the trailer (I was happy to get these three anyway)
I should have gone and got them last night......
As per the wrecker they all fit the sohc 750 (watch out ebay) .. or I hope they do...
