My project starts with a great condition 77 750, and a junk 71 750, plans are as follows

Smooth bored '71 carbs, 125 mains, clip in fourth from top, pod filters

Lower end stock '77 750 japanese cc's

Upper work as follows; .020 spacers under valve springs, bored oil drain holes, ported and polished intake and exhaust, .020 machined from lower flange, smoothed combustion chamber, high performance cam (dont have yet not sure how aggressive i want yet)

Exhaust 4 -1 wrapped no muffler straight pipe 12" after header.

Expectations; cheap mans power, I expect to run next to the guy that is running an 836cc with no/mild headwork.

Sounds good.

Might run into valve clearance issues running stock bore, but that depends on which cam you get. Nothing that can't be dealt with when rebuilding  8)

You probably won't need to port the intake a whole lot, mostly the exhaust side.

Sounds like fun anyway,

 Matt.

So i got my 77 and started teardown.  It felt kinda wierd tearing down a running bike but the end result will be awsome
