Do an internet search, generally the unlocking code is generated based on the IMEI that you can find in a sticker under the battery, and you can also get it with a given key combination. There should be code generators on the internet.

In Spain, lots of chinese and turkish-run business will unlock any phone for 6 euro or so. Basicly the final decision depends on how much the time it takes to find the code on the internet is worth for you.

thanks Bob & Raul.
Yes I know how it is done I need the generator program, I have searched but been unsucessful. There are people here in the UK who will do it I just wanted to do it myself if possible. The code can also be obtained by inputting *#06#

I've always gone to a guy at Liverpool St Station (to the right of the Underground barriers).

Unfortunately he couldn't help me this week with my "new" T-Mobile Blackberry.

called at a local shop, he can do it but will require a dismantle so seems to be hardware fix.
Liverpool St Station a bit of a journey  ;D but I did go to a place near Shepherds Bush tube station once when I fell over in London and smashed my Nokia screen, I later found they are very easy to obtain and replace.

Some siemens mobiles were unlocked simply by applying +5V to a given pin in the connector. Each brand has its own way to unlock. Do you have some 18 yr-old relative addicted to computers? Tell him nobody you've talked to has been able to unlock it, chances are he will find the way in one day or so. I used to be like that when I was younger, always taking chances.

I'm the one who is addicted to computers and electronics around here, the local shop will do it for me quite cheaply, don't want to see another going to the local landfill.
