Check your checking account
« on: March 09, 2008, 09:32:30 AM »
Hi All.
Not sure if this should be posted here but: A few months ago I recieved a charge of $247,00us on my checking account without my knowledge or permission. The worst part is, How did this company get my checking account number.
The company is at, 11010 Emmet St
Omaha NE 68164 USA
Phone: 1-800-964-1882

Lucky for us it was near the end of the month when we try to balance our cheking account, when this charge was discovered. I had to cancel my checking account and open a new one with new numbers!

After many emails, then threat of suit emails the company PSP, finally relented and gave my $ back, but only begrudingly and with a snide, insulting email to boot.

The thing that irratates me is they claim to be a "Top 100 dealer"! If I lived closer I would have gone over and punched his lights out.

I'm sorry 74cb750, was I not supposed to use your account for that purchase!?!   ;)  Just kidding, thanks for heads up.  I was looking at their web site earlier this week, but will avoid them now.  Just to make sure, is this their site?

Don't know how it works over there. In Spain, if I have a charge in my checking account I can always reject it, even if the money has been withdrawn. The bank makes payments but they can always be withdrawn in a given time -15 days or so-. Checks are seldom used here, only for big amounts. Rent, mortgage, utility bills, everything is charged in the checking account and you get the bill by mail beforehand so you can provision enough funds. If you receive a charge you didn't approve, just tell your bank to get it back and that's it.

I assume other banks offer this service, but we bank with Chase. You can have them eMail your current balance and debit/credit transaction activity every day. Helps spot things pretty quickly. I noticed an odd deposit, went into our account to check the detail and it turned out to be an expense check from my wife's employer. They are direct deposit them to our account.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Hey Bob, if you don't like direct deposit have them send it to my account and I'll look after it for you.  ;D ;D

Thanks for the heads up on Powersports I have purchased from them in the past and it took
a while to get the item as best I remember.

74 cb750 I found over the years its really nice to be to stand across the from the supplier, because they can't hang up or say the fax, email didn't get there if you reach across the counter someone has to do something about it, in this day and age cultivate a teenage computer geek with a grudge then it becomes personal for the company. Glad you got your coin back.

That is the main question isn't it?
My wife and I along w the bank could not come up w an acceptable answer, esp. as I have never bought anything from them.
