this is an extra tank i got for the scrambler. its got huge knee dents in both sides, so i figured i would give the freezer trick a try. Hope it dont leak!

It won't work. I used that to pop a dent out of a aluminium trekking bottle -what's the name for that?-. The dent popped out, as well as the rest of the bottle. The ice expands in all directions. You will have more luck using suction cups or metal hooks through the tank mouth.

Water expands by 1/10th when it freezes.so dont fill the tank to the top!
thats why there is an air gap in a beer bottle for instance.

well the dents seemed to have come out a little but not as much as i would have hoped. I am going to let it thaw out, and maybe try again. next time I may put a little more water in it. It was about 95% full with the lid closed and it expanded up to the top of the neck. It didnt mess it up the seams anywhere that I can tell though.

You just have to be careful and keep a close eye on it (as in, sit beside the freezer for 2 hours and look in every 3 minutes)
