Last week, I went over to bike week at Daytona and after perusing the new bikes rode into the infield of the speedway while qualifying for the moto gp races was going on. Now the track in turn 4 is banked at what seems like 45 degrees....probably a little less. These guys were going around this leaning into the turn of course. The net result was that the angle of the bike was within a few degrees of being flat with the ground of the infield. Reminds me of those stunts where several bikes ride around horizontal in a steel cage.
I've never seen a race except on TV and found that to be really amazing. Screaming motors.....crazy speeds...a few feet apart...really exciting to watch.
Also, there were a lot of sport bikes there with tags from Michigan, Ohio, New York, etc. Hats off to them to be able to ride that far on a sport bike. Maybe cabin fever set in and they had to ride!
Funny, they all seemed to be in their teens.
