70's folk art

After all these years, I finally decided to frame this stuff.  When I lived on the panahndle in SF, a girl downstairs taught herself to silk screen.  These are about 20" across.  Even the lines are screened- perfect registration all over.
Might try to sell them- I could use the money.  Any of you artsie types have a clue if they're actually worth anything?  Funny thing- the more I look at them, the more I like them.  But our walls are full already...

They are very nice. Since you live close to the Bay area, I would try some of the touristy shops that are featuring retro. They really are quite nice.

Bobby, I'm in Asheville NC now.  I've been hauling these things around for over 30 years.

Mr Heffay, What's worth a lot to me is not especially what "the market" thinks is so hot.  That's the main reason I lose money on every vehicle I sell.
Holly never charged anyone for all this work.  She just got a notion and after all that work- she just passed it out to people she liked.

Now that they're all having an opportunity to air out, I think they'll hang somewhere so I can look at them for a while.  Hard to find space here...


I just got an idea for a new thread ~

Well Ashville NC is no longer the backwoods. Plenty of Yankees have migrated and they are trendy as you get. Why not give Craigslist a shot and see if you can post it in NY, SF, and LA. I think in a shop in the right area they would bring some nice change.

good thing we worked that out... that was what i was trying to say  :)

i think they're for you... i also think trippy framed silkscreens would go great in the garage and/or basement next to the lava lamp.

i'll crank up my gear from years gone by and snap a shot in a few  ;)  of course, if its still all setup, maybe the years are still upon me.  haha.

Still a lot of backwoods here abouts.  I think that's a big reason Wheels Through Tme is leaving.

Yanno- if we had kids, we might think about some things differently.  I imagine kid-families think about passing things on, traditions, etc.  I got to thinking asbout selling this stuff because the wolf is at de do', but Holly gave these to me and my father at a magic trike in the city where it as big-time happening.  Plus- I really like them.

Bob- I don't know thw whole story.  I think Maggie Valley won't support the place as far as signs and certain kinds of "event" security.  A couple of National things have happened there, and I guess Folks in MV don't really care.  Give 'em a ring and report back to us.
