The weather looks a bit grim there at the moment.

I am so ashamed :-[  Here I've been so concerned about the basketball games and didn't even think about who might have been hurt (or worse)  with the weather down there and all. I Do hope that folks have managed to come out of that okay. We've had some pretty good damage up here over the years, done by tornadoes and have seen what they can do.

                                 Take care, Bill

Thanks for the link, Tim. Four Dead and at least seventeen missing! That IS too bad. :-\ I can only imagine what it would have been like to have been there! We looked over on CNN, Headline News and Fox News, to find nothing about it. ::)

Saw that one on the news today.

Many years ago, while in college, I was fortunate enough to have a job a wire lather during the summer months. Fantastic pay for the time, work was hard though. We worked in lower Manhattan laying the steel for buildings up to 25-30 stories. Everything was lifted by crane from the street. One morning, in the wee hours, the cables parted on the crane boom and the boom dropped in the street. Fortunately it was early enough that no one was out and about, no injuries, but it sure took out a few cars. :-\ We were off for several days while they cleaned up and brought in a new boom. That boom looked really, really big laying in the street.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

We Atlantians are faring ok. Downtown got messed up pretty good, but much of it was superficial. The brunt of this disaster happened in an area slightly SE of there, called Cabbagetown. This is an old (1880's - 1940's) part of town, with shotgun-single style homes, old historic bungalows, old brick commercial buildings and warehouses that have been converted into shops and residences, etc. One of the large warehouse/residences was severely damaged, and many of the homes in the area were crushed by huge falling oak trees.

Even though I live very close to Cabbagetown and work downtown, I haven't seen any of the damaged areas yet... but I've talked to folks who have, and they've all said that everything seems pretty ok, except for the huge mess that now has to be cleaned up... and the problems for people that have lost their homes.

Thanks for checking...

Dustin

Yeah, those tornadoes are a pretty awesome force and so unpredictable too! Good to hear that YOU are all right.  ;)
