Hey Mick,

Forum member "cheftuskey121" (thread: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=115879.0;topicseen) got the same K0 seat then told me where from ;)...from this Ebay seller:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CB750-FOUR-1969-Sandcast-DUCK-TAIL-1969-1971-BRAND-NEW-Seat-/200916375616?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ec78c9840&vxp=mtr

He seems to run a "Buy it now" versus a "Bid" price on a regular basis. The hinges (supplied) fitted right onto the K4 hinge brackets. I have not installed the seat latch yet (dont have one at this time) and may modify the base (plastic) to take the later style plunger lock. Can still be ridden with no latch on it.

I need some seat time to tell how it will work out.

cheers
Andy

So bike is "finished" its transformation...from this..

to this

Pros of new look:
1. Seat height is higher
2. Euro bars give it a lean forward/streetfighter feel so kind of sitting up over the tank

Cons:

1. Much less aerodynamic  8)

Havent had a good test ride to compare cornering ability. On the plus side the new look might be more comfortable for 500 mile days going to the TOD and back. I think though Ill likely end up transforming it back to the way it was...just loved that look ;)

Thoughts/comments?

cheers

Looks great Andy. I am a little more partial to the Giuliari seat myself but man your bike is nice either way. I am putting the Euro bars on my K4 build. Mine are made by Bikemaster. What brand are yours do ya know?

Thanks BrandEn. Euro bars = I believe they are Bikemasters as well.

Tews - other seat is in storage for now. Not for sale. Will likely return it to original look but will try this first. Good to have options.

Good looking bike, Andy.  I like it both ways, but I also dig the polished, bare metal tanks.  Great job.

I had a great run about 3 weeks ago going to Rhode Island for the day. Anyway get back to the K2 last night and 2+3 are not firing. Havent done any deep troubleshooting yet aside from take the tank off and check the wiring is connected - appears to be. I did notice the HT lead to #2 may be broken at the cap end so that needs investigating. But I suspect at this point its maybe the coil not working and so need to carefully check the black/white wire from coil. Just venting as its getting cooler here and this is the best riding weather - and I have a trip to Scottish Highland Games in NH this weekend!  8)

Check for spark on 2 and 3 wires (pull a plug out and hold it against case and turn it over).  If no spark, swap blue and yellow wires (pull all spark plug wires off).  Test them again.  If spark, probably something up with your points.  If still no spark, coil might have #$%* the bed.  Good luck   ;)

Jerry I am using the same DynaS since 2001 - however this bike only has about 5000 miles since then (currently at 62,000 miles)  >:(. The K4 is the more used bike  -about to roll over 90,000 miles this weekend.

cheers
