I just found out about this in the last week from a GOLDWING Club member, some of you may know about it ,or have heard about it, but I suspect most of you are like me and had no idea about this.  I feel this is very important , thats why I'm posting it. It appears some of the individual healthcare plans have a loophole in them, that allows them not to cover motorcycle related injuries. There's a bill S.616 in CONGRESS THAT STOPS THIS LOOPHOLE!!! and it needs YOUR SUPPORT!!!  if you go to the AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE ASSOCIATION  website you can read more about this-  www.ama-cycle  they've made it easy for you help, once your on their home page click on the rapid response center . They have a letter that you just fill in the fields, and it sends it to your senators. You don't need to be a AMA member to do this. Please tell as many motorcycle enthusiast as you can. It would also be a good idea to check with you health plan provider to see if these exclusions apply to you. Thankyou for taking the time to read this- Den

Now Nick, try to be humble :)    This should be of interest not only to motorcyclists  but ATV riders, skiiers, snowmobilers and horseback riders.

Thanks for the link.  I'm pleased that Maine's senator Susan Collins is sponsoring the bill in the Senate.

I signed the petition and passed it on to a few friends.
You can't make too much popcorn, but you can definately eat too much popcorn.

Don't understand why do you wonder. Care for traffic accidents are not covered in any healthcare plan anywhere from what I know. In Spain, the medical care of somebody injured in an accident is covered by the car or bike insurance. I have cheap insurance for my bikes and it covers anything I cause to others, but my medical expenses only up to 3.000 euro.

If you want your healtcare cover injuries sustained while enjoying a leisure activity -anyway you put it, riding a motorcycle in the US is a leisure activity even when commuting-, expect your costs to sky-rocket.

Oh no, what have I done! I just opened the healthcare-can-of-worms again... ;D
