Newbie from Nova Scotia, Canada
« on: May 12, 2008, 07:47:35 PM »
Hi everyone. I'm new to the SOHC.... I'm new to biking period. I've always wanted to rebuild or resore a bike and so undertoodk a 1979 CB750K 2 years ago. Shortly thereafter i learned to ride it; I'm hooked.

I now have this "73 350 four that needs a friend. I have a son who will be pleased if i can get it rolling and looking good. I'll be reading and listening and looking for parts connections. Found this site in recent days and look forward to the adventure. Reads really well so far!

Raynald;
Hello.
I got my 350 in Quebec! Original owner (April 10,1973) .. driven in Coburg Ontario and relocated to a place called St Jean-Chrysostome. It appears to be same model color as that pic you have up.
Any spare parts?  I'm looking for good used original headers to fit to new 4into 4 MVVI silencers.

Welcome from Ontario. Whitby actually so just a short drive from Coburg where your ride was located at one point...

Jim,

yes, St.-Jean-Chrysostome is just in front of Quebec City, on the south shore of the St-Lawrence River.

I got my bike in october 2007, purchased in Baltimore MD.  I bought a few parts, new and used since then, from Ebay and part dealers on the net, as far as New Zealand!.  Mufflers and pipes are a real problem with this bike:  they are unavailable!  From time to time, a few units, sometimes new, are sold on Ebay at ridiculous prices.  I posted the link to a company in Italy producing nice replicas, but they are not cheap:

The   4  mufflers  for  350 f   cost  euro  350    (523.08$ CDN)

the    4  pipes      //        //      //   200    (298.90$ CDN)

Shipping cost by  air  to  Canada     euro  110     (164.40$ CDN)

I want to keep the bike stock, if possible.

That's good thanks Raynald; thanks everyone. I'm going to look more closely at the pipe issue but want to be sure the bike is solid in other respects also and i expect that will take some riding. Only 18K klicks on it so must have something left in it. (let me know if i need to be aware of anything else)
