What leads do I test?
« on: March 17, 2008, 02:18:47 PM »
I'm looking at another ignition switch base that is aftermarket since mine is showing some wear with
it's turning action the fact that it's stained badly from the bike sitting outside from the original owner.

But what came to mind, was, couldn't there be a build up of resistance in the switch base from old use??

What leads should I check with my Multi-meter in the Ohms setting?

Thanks for the help on this, as there's like 5 prongs!!!

dirt, grease, crud, oxidation.... make good insulation at times.

5 prongs... IG - black wire... BAT - red... TL1 - brown/white... TL2 - brown (1 wire to 2 prongs)

Key off - no connections... on - BAT to IG, TL1 to TL2... park - BAT to TL2

Good luck.
