yeah just buzz off the mounting tabs for the seid covers. I like the curvaceousness.

i WILL look into that, Kit. But I'll have to also do some fabricating to make the front of the seat secure, as it doesn't mount properly as it is. Maybe I can come up with something. I Do have a feeler out for a tank that IS for the 650C. I need to get some more pictures, because it NOW has a stock seat and gauges. Got to get on with replacing that Gawdy looking tail light with the Lucas style one that I got AND I'm gonna slightly bob that rear fender (not too much, just enough  ;) ).

Here is my 1979 CB650. Started out with $300 non-running bike. Decided to take it all apart(never did this before)and try to fix it up and make it run. She is almost finished and ready for the road.

Very nice!

Looks better than either of my 79 cb650's.

I really like the "no carbs" look, I could really live without my 79 carbs some days. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous. I want to see more too..

I have plans for mine as well and as soon as my budget gets bigger
I will be doing some similar, yet different scheme changes to mine.

I can't wait either. Some guy told me what a waste of $$ it was to
get a 79 cb650. I want to make this guy eat his word.

again.. nice work.

You do realize that is the definition of a hobby, it's a waste of money. But seriously, if you have the money and that is what you want to spend it on, go for it! I've learned so much redoing my bike.

Hey Soos, do you still have the points cover for sale? I forgot all about it until now. I'd still like to buy one off of you for our 2nd cb650, if you still have an extra to spare. I don't mind a few scratches, doesn't have to be sparkling. Just want it to be pretty decent. thanks.  :)

Sorry been a while.
Been really busy, work, life, AND 2 bikes to work on....

But i'm glad to say I'm FINALLY running my rebuilt '79cb650 carbs again!
AND having work the electrical gremlins out again on my daily rider '79 cb650(Having 2 '79 cb650s is confusing describing them to people...)
I'm thinking my wiring harness is fried.

But thats for another post.

If you still need it, let me know.
Did you want a'81/'82 steel one,  or the '79/'80 style aluminum one.
 :)
I think the aluminum ones bleed heat faster, how can it not, aluminum transfers heat soo much faster than steel.

Only steel ones are the 82 nithawk for the chroming I suppose.  All my 81's are alum.  My dad had a 82 standard for a bit and it was alum also.

Gotcha Bill. Thanks!

Soos, Bill had one on his parts bike that was in good shape so we ended up doing a swap of parts. Thanks anyway.

I'm running a 1979 CB650. I wish there were people around where I live that had bikes similar at least. I am a loner in Modesto. Oh and pictures will come as soon as I get around to taking pictures.  ;D

Hello new here and just picked up a 82 CB650sc. Not sure what my plans are for it but it may be getting chopped. Wouldn't start up due to sitting for the past year and a half. Cleaned out the carbs and it seems to be okay now.
