CB 500 F and exhaust unit?
« on: March 24, 2008, 07:38:36 AM »
Hi!

Can anyone of you tell me if ALL the CB500F was deliverd with 4 exhaust units, or did the later models have 4 to 1 system?
I`m wondering because I have looked on a CB500F 1975, and it`s a 4 to 1 system on the bike. The seller says it`s orginal Honda. Is this true?

  • If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's electrical

In the USA the CB500's came with 4-4 pipes, and the model was discontinued at the end of 1973, when the CB550's came out. If its a CB550F, then it came with a 4-1. Otherwise, CB500's and CB550's came with 4-4's from the factory, in this country. Hope this helps!

Hey bmh, I'm a 75' CB550Fer. IMO the F style 4 into 1 is one of the best looking pipes out there. They are still available, I hear, though quite spendy. Keep us posted. Good luck.
