does anyone know if a 1980 cb650sc head is the same as the 1979 cb650z head??
and is the camshaft the same, ie. still the 63bhp camshaft?

Look up some of the posts from Soos or PM him.  He's done a lot of research along the lines of camshaft measurements for the CB650.

I think that there has been some reference to differences between the European models and the US models, but I'm not sure.

What parts do you specifically need?...Joe

well i was only after it because i wanted to get the cam reprofiled and the head ported as i didnt get my one done while it was off. but if its not exactly the same then theres no point!!

After looking at the auction i can pretty sure say it is a CV head.
as for the cam... don't know.


I believe it depends on what country the bike was exported to originally dictates the cam..
Germany was pretty much screwed for getting the 63HP cam for emissions needs.


For the price it would be a good deal IMO.

so it is off no use to me, i fi have slide type carbs?
i dont think i will risk it on the cam maybe being right and the head isnt.
