Exhaust Question w/ Pic
« on: March 24, 2008, 09:03:04 AM »
Ok so I am putting my exhaust on and do not know which way they go.  They have been cut off right where the can attaches and I do not know which ones go where.  2 are pretty straight but the other 2  have a slight bend.  Anyone know how to tell which ones go where?

Which bike are we talking about?

The two that have the slight bend go on the center ports as they have to bend around the oil filter cap, and they probably also have a larger diameter bend than the other two as they have farther to go.  For the outside ports, the pipes are quite similar, but you can tell the difference as they flare a little different, each respectively to the side that it goes on when looking straight at the bike from the front tire view.
Hope that helps

Both of you guys responded while I went out to look at the pipes I've got hanging in the rafters  :D ......the left center kinks slightly to the left, and the right center to the right... which you probably figured out already  :)

Ya I had put them on this weekend and the way you guys explained them seemed to work but they were a little off and were not tight in the holes.  So I tightened them some more and bam broke the freaking bolt coming out of the head.  Luckily I had a parts bike that I took one off and replaced it.  I then figured out there are supposed to be some washers inside that take up the extra space so those are on order.  Is the exhuast supposed to be loose when it is screwed in?
