Registry of Female SOHC4 forum members
« on: March 24, 2008, 04:51:04 PM »
In a similar vein to the 350F owners registry etc. Here's a registry for female members of the SOHC4 forum.

I notice that as of just now there were 3531 members of the forum and that the male to female ratio was 59.8:1

Therefore there's at least another 58 female members out there other than me! (That's assuming that some members will not have filled in the gender field on their profile!!)

So a list, forum handle, bike you have/ride and comments please!!  ;D

I'll start then:

1) Loonymoon, CB350F, clueless enthusiast- but slowly learning!!

Here is my sister, who rides.  She typicaly rides whatever extra bikes I have around.  The cafe bike I just picked up for a friend.  As usual, she is on her toes with a 750 but at least she doesn't let it stop her.

Nice vid Hope!

I hope  (sorry no pun intended) to get some new footage of my bike once it's up with me... shouldn't be long now.. Can't wait.

In the mean time I've been learning a lot about disc brake mechanisms and have helped strip and refurbish both the calipers on my modern 250cc scooter (don't laugh..... :-[)

That is an old video from last year.  I put a gold tank on it since then, and now the orange is back on.  Plan to get more videos and updated pics for the coffee table book.  I want some pics with this bike in motion...

Disc brake mechanisms?  I put 750 Hondamatic front brakes on my 550K.  Disc brake mechanisms are not that complicated.

You're in the right place to learn more about your bike.  Good luck with your scooter.

Whatever info youwant to provide - but for the list I'll just add the current bike that is or is nearest to the Honda SOHC4's.

I won't list my previous bikes as they're all scooters/mopeds and won't be at all interesting to people here!!

Kitsune84,  novice mechanic, newbie rider, 1980 CB650c

I got my bike for $450 and figured "I can do this; it can't be that hard..."
So I got started.
Not knowing what I'm doing rarely stops me.
After some bad starts, two bent valves and a fire, (long story short, don't use ether if you don't know what you're doing) I'm working at a vintage MC shop and the owner helps me with my own bike when he has the time.  So far, I've taken the head off, replaced the head gasket, replaced bent valves, had the carbs in all 3,000 tiny freakin' pieces (cleaned 'em all with solvent, soap 'n water and put 'em all back together myself) rebuilt my fork and will be doing my master cylinder and caliper...  replaced ignitor boxes and coils...
*whew!*

oh, and as of last weekend, I just took my Team Oregon basic rider training, and just got my motorcycle endorsement!  Backwards? Maybe... but I wanted to know my bike inside and out before I rode her.

...now I just hope I get to ride her soon... ::)

Just for your information, dear female riders, I recommend you a bike book written by another female rider: "The perfect motorcycle". The author is Melissa Holbrook if memory serves me. I read it last year but unfortunately I already passed it along -too many books and too little space... ;-) I enjoyed the book; you will surely enjoy it too. Melissa also fix her own Guzzi.
