I never found this until now!

I also shall add myself to this registry. I have a '77 CB550F. It worked once, right now it doesn't, but that's a story for another time. Someday I shall turn it into a beautiful machine! Someday....

I'm working on my bike. It was rolling fine yesterday & suddenly lost all electrical. If I can get it fixed, I want in. Baton Rouge, LA.

That sounds like 1 of 2 things:
1. Main fuse went out, because the clips are old and heat the fuse until it fails. New fuse will work for a while, process will eventually repeat. If you have access to a .22 caliber gun bore cleaning (wire) brush, scrape the insides of those clips with it until shiny to improve things.
2. Key switch failure. We have seen the aftermarket EMGO key switches failing on the 750/550/500 bikes because they are only rated for 8 amps of service. The Red wire melts off the switch, usually, or the contact burns up inside. PM me for a fix on that problem, if yours has it.

We'll get you on the road.

We figured it out: it was the key ignition switch. But I didn't make the ride. I've replaced the ignition switch.

Sign me up with you ladies in the sohc registry. I have a 1974 Honda 350-4 that is an ugly duckling because her former owner disrespected her! Sweet little bike. Needs some minor mechanical work but would be cool to customize her into a baby cruiser to match my 2007 Honda Shadow aero paint scheme which is metallic black with beige and gold accents. Be neat to find sweeping fenders and a low custom seat. Am I nuts? Sounds like a good winter project...my current husbsnd of 10 years is restoring his 1974 Norton Commando 850 that he bought new in college. How lucky am I !!

i ride a 1975 CB 550F, sunflake orange. my bike it totally unspoiled, and in 100% original condition.

tho i think she could do with some TLC. not being overly mechanically minded is a bit of a hinder, but i seem to manage to keep her going. my bike is the same as hope's cassandra
previous bikes include CB90, 1974 CB350F. CB500F x two. 1972 CB750F. 1976 CB550F and lastly 1975 CB550F. a bit of a pattern there lol.

thanks hondaman. i would like to know of other nz'ers. i ve got really carboned bottom pipes and clean top pipes, she's not running the best atm, seems a bit lean on the fuel? when u button off and wind back up theres a miss? or dead spot?. i am looking for answers, as shes not a good ride atm, and i worry i will do more damage to the engine from my ignorance. not being overly mechanically minded, but keen and willing to learn. also is i get about 110-120kms on a tank, before i have to use reserve, does this seem about right? and why are manuals so vague, grrh, i think they leave out every 2nd 3rd and wth instruction, or is it a girl thing.
