Just picked these up. Check it out, etc...

Hey everybody, just signed up to the forum.

Me and my brothers have been following cafe's and bobbers all over the internet for a while now. Forums, ebay, craigslist, google, you name it. Anyway, one of us finally got something...and they're my first.

I just brought these back from from a guy in upstate NY.  It was a fun adventure bringing them home with my brother in my cousins Tacoma, pretty small truck.  Getting blown all over the Appalachian Mt. roads with 1200 lbs of bike strapped down in the back. Got them for pretty much a 2 for 1 deal, $660 (Well $650 but I forgot to get my 10 bucks in change).  My younger brother called 'dibs' on the one I don't want within an hour of getting home.

The one with 2 to 1 pipes is a '75, it was originally the orange paint scheme but some guy painted over it unfortunately.  Both Run, neither idles.  The carbs need to be cleaned out on both, at the least.  The other is a '73.  They both need to be gone over, brakes, leaks etc.  I'm sure I'll have questions for everybody on the forums.

But before I can do that I gotta move all that junk on the porch...jees. Or better yet, convince my parents to throw it out...

If you look closely you can spot my dad's old blue and white Honda 50, I hope to get that in better condition later this summer while I'm at it.

Anyway..If you want a closer look at my bikes (or something on the porch), just copy the image location into a new page and the pic will be much larger.

The '75..

The '73...

I think they are a K5 and a K3.. is that right for the years?

I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do with them yet.  My ideas are something in the area of a cafe or bratstyle's bikes. Not necessarily a 'Carpy,' but something in between a cafe and this http://www.bratstyle.com/custom/cb750%20nakajima/CB750%20nakazima.htm with cafe bars...I don't know, we'll see.

This one from the gallery page caught my eye 'cause I have the pipes already.  By the way I don't know where those came from, if somebody could enlighten me on that, it'd be nice.

Thanks for lookin,

Speeding

Welcome and very nice bikes to start with. And I liked the 2 examples you posted - both very good ideas.

Good luck with them and looking forward to the progress :-)

cheers
Andy

Yes, that street tracker from bratstyle is badass!

Nice purchase for $660.  They look pretty decent, I hope they aren't too much trouble to get into shape.

At least you came to the right place.

Happy wrenching.
