Yes it is the starter,
eldar would say: a motor that attaches to a flywheel and spins the engine.

 But I would say: it is a starter motor that is attached to the block and engages a sprag clutch that is attached to the flywheel when engaged will spin the engines crankshaft.


Egil: I did not understand your post.  I started this so people such as your self could post photos of parts that would make all of US try to guess the part, I did not plan on being the soul provider of the photos, but I will for now because i like badgering Eldar and Tintin.

Great when I nead parts of a spesific type.
