Bikes That Used The Keihin 27mm Carburetors
« on: March 26, 2008, 06:55:52 AM »

I'm looking to see if I can find out what bikes used the Keihin 27mm carburetors. I'm in need of some parts for my SL350K1/K2 carburetors and am told that Honda used the 27mm carbs on several bikes, like the CB/SL100 for example. The more bikes that I know have used those carbs, the better chance I have of getting a couple of carbs that I can adapt for use on the SL350. Any input would be helpful and appreciated.  Thanks,  Bill ;)

Not to rain on your parade, but, I don't think any of the VF series carbs will work as they are downdraft type.
If you want CV type take a look at the 400~750 range of inline fours and use just the middle two carbs.
I've been buying Suzuki RM carbs when I get the chance but any of the older MX bike ones can be adapted

I think I have a surplus of mikuni 32mm CV carbs that fit the cb350.
Let me know if you need them.
No.

I am pretty sure if you run a carb off an MX 2 stroke, it will have differebt slide cutaway, different needl, different  fuel jet .. that sort of thing.

If someone has a part set of KO carbs, they work well & fit on a 350 twin.

They need emulsion tube changed and needle/jets, etc.
When I get them cheap enough its worthwhile just for the body.
$15.00~$20.00 each, I can fix the rest.

troppo and PJ, I appreciate the efforts by you. I should have specified that I was mainly looking for possible 4 stroke 27mm carbs that I could use, if I didn't come up with the parts for the SL350K1/K2 carbs (the SL350K0 had CV carbs, while the K1 & K2 didn't.

Mark, I don't need CV carbs at the present, but I'll keep you in mind and Thank You for that.

BTW, I would have never believed it, but a fellow member over on hondatwins.com has informed me that he has a complete set of 72' carb sliders (back in my day, we called the throttle pistons) and a good throttle cable for it too and he'll send it to me for nothing, not even shipping charges! I offered to pay something, but he wouldn't near of it. I'll be having some other questions on the subject, soon as I can check to see just what I DO have vs what I'm missing on the 71' SL350K1 and the 72' SL350K2.

Thanks again guys, Bill :) ;)

BTW, I didn't know who else might reply to this, but I figured PJ would since he seems to have a pretty good history of mixing things up! ;) And, as usual, I wasn't disappointed. :)

I want to thank all who offered assistance, but a member over on hondatwins.com responded that he had what I needed and would send them to me at NO COST. Of course I thanked him and offered to, at least pay the shipping. He wouldn't have it and I got the carb slides, caps, springs and cable complete today! I'm still not believing how fortunate I was, just to find them, much less for nothing!

                                      Take care, Bill :) ;)
