Well guys, it was good news and bad news. Chris on the CR managed to run his fastest ever into a Strong head wind.
The wheel spin that slowed him at the end of last year has gone and he allmost ran into the 11s with a 12.03 pass at 112mph.
I didn't expect him to have issues with traction at Santa Pod as it is the best track in the Country. The surface is best described as like riding on Super glue over Super glue, stand on the surface for more than a few seconds and you're stuck.
Me on the other hand couldn't get any traction despite running a super soft/sticky slick, doing burn outs and dropping the tyre pressure down to 15 pounds psi.
It goes to show the massive power to weight ratio that the RS has over the CR.

When I first tested the RS it was way over geared and was laying down rubber for 100 yards in first gear. I knew that it would be to high geared for the quarter mile so I came down 2 teeth on the front sprocket. It proved to be still to high and only used 4 of its 6 gears over the quarter and when viewed on the video footage, looked real slow of the line.
On a plus note, I think the gearing I had it on might be OK for the kilometer event in May when we test for the bikes top speed.
On one of my last runs, I hooked 5th gear and it pulled to 12,000 rpm with ease. when I sat up the wind allmost dragged me off the thing.
I've just ordered a couple more sprockets to lower the gearing for next weeks event over the 8th mile.
The real bad news, while typing this post, I received an email off spud who has been trying to load the video footage off my sons camera. when he finally got the computer to recognise the camera, the cameras battery went flat, we'll try again tomorrow.
