But a friend of mine has a CB360T for sale for around $800, and it has around 10k on it. Which one would be the better bike/deal?

Depends on what the 500 seller considers a reasonable 'offer'. With all due respect to your friend the CB360G5 was not a highly rated bike. In the long term the 500 might be the better investment.

My 44 cents worth (4  cents + inflation).

at least with the 500 you can do some comfortable highway runs.
i wouldn't bother with the speedo reading....i have changed mine twice in the last year just for looks.

IMO the 500 would be the better deal.
But for older bikes I will not pay more than $2.00/cc for the motor.
And thats with new tires, fresh tune up, and in good condition.
So for 1,200 i think it's a bit high priced already.

However with only 6,000 miles the motor has only recently been broken in.
Hopefully they treated it well!!!
