Topic: K0 Mudguard bracket help

I need to make a one off bracket to fit a front race type fender to my 750. The caliper mounts are the original K0 type so I figure that all I need to do is make a mirror pair of brackets the same as the original K0 fender. Easiest way to do this would be to get a tracing of a single side bracket from a helpful 750 fan with a fender off the bike or in a parts store somewhere. Can anyone help?!?

It has to be a K0 type bracket as the size and mounts differ in the later K models sadly...

And if your K0 fender is too nice to chop up just for the bracket, just use one from a K1 or K2, they all use the same bracket. Cheers, Terry.

I guess K0-K2 fenders are more common on the other side of the pond to here in the UK, even Fleabay isn't showing anything....I'll keep looking >trudge<, >trudge<

If I had one to send you I would mate, but there are plenty in the US, one guy here was even trying to see a bracket that he just painted black and called a "fork brace" a year or two ago............ Just post a "Fender brace wanted" thread, and you'll get one. Cheers, Terry.

Superb! Thank you Mr Mystic, that's a massive help. I'll knock one out in card first and then work up from there.

being mr Hasty, I already had one go in 3mm stainless and it didn't quite work out! Man that stainless is hard to work though....

Sorry about the SAE measurements in the drawing, btw, I kept thinking I should be doing it all in metric but you know the story with the USA and the Metric System lol.  All my measuring devices are SAE.

I tried to be as accurate as possible but it was a bit tough without actually flattening out my bracket.  The tracing is reasonably accurate but I'm planning on double-checking all the measurements later tonight.  Also want to do a better front view diagram with better measurements.  I also was thinking I'll update the drawing to show more how the bracket is dished to clear the fork legs.

If you guys see any measurements or views I should add, just let me know.

If you make them out of thicker it gets much more difficult.

I did make one out of 1/4 alum for a HD FXWG fender, but it took a long time.

If you want to really stiffen the fork, I started a post on how to easily make one.. can be made in a few hrs & works very well.

OK, double-checked measurements, made some minor corrections for typos and added a few more dimensions.  Stock thickness is approximately 3/16".

Also added some shading for contrast.
