Very Freaky eBay Description
« on: April 02, 2008, 02:30:00 PM »
Long-winded, short on info, not particularly convincing, and a question at the end about blinker lights. Doesn't get much weirder than this....

That is an ISO CYCLE Oil Cooler Dipstick. Big deal. I bought one for my CB550F and it doesn't really fot correctly into the dipstick hole. They were more popular on BMW's.

Here is a blurb I found in another eBay ad for the same type of dipstick:

This is a development of space age technology by a NASA engineer. First of all, the ISO cycle oil cooler is not a "fancy billet" dip stick. It's operation is the result of principles discovered by NASA research. A liquid under vacuum is sealed in the hollow tube of the ISO cycles shaft. When heat is applied to the shaft  (when oil reaches a temperature of 160 F.) the liquid boils, becoming a vapor. The vapor expands and travels to the opposite end of the shaft were collects in the "tower".. The billet aluminum "tower" radiates the heat off to the passing air stream. Consider  this, for every 20 degree drop in oil temp your engine life is doubled. You can cut engine heat  and wear by using the ISO cooler as a replacement for the oil dip stick on your bike.

I bought one of these for my '70 CB750K awhile back from a different eBay seller. The 750 version is intended to thread into the oil gallery where oil pressure gauges are usually mounted on the right side of the motor. Suppose you could use it as a dipstick though if you wanted to...

All that typing was hardly worth the $50.00 that the NASA thing pulled.

Chec out his other auction for a pair of replica "Porsche Design" fold-up sunglasses.  I think it says it all!

You know... my old 911 had set of those in the glove box (no joke) when I bought it - had I known they could pull $20+ on eBay, they wouldn't have wound up in the carwash garbage can. BUMMER!!! Reminds me of the old "What did you find in your glovebox or under the seats" topics that used to come up from time to time on the ol' Porsche forum. We need something like that here - like a "what came in the box of spare parts" topic. Then whoever wins gets to sell it on eBay and donate the profits.

Oh... I see the problem: He's from Ohio.

Ok... sorry. Enough already.
