guess full faring isn't such a modern concept huh?

If you ever run across an 'Art of the Motorcycle' book, grab it.  I caught the Guggenheim show in Vegas years back & it's amazing how much has been tried in the past.  Somehow I convinced my old boss that I needed to go to a conference in Vegas which 'just so happened' to coincide with the show.  Thanks boss!

I haven't been out there yet, I'm hoping to go watch and talk to folks in a year or two, then come back the next season and run. Not expecting to break any records, I just want to enter and say I ran. Don Stringfellow is from my hometown, I think he still holds the speed record in one of the pickup truck classes. He let me see his next project, a Bonneville bound Super Bird he's building for a client.

Anyone here seen the Vincent Gallo movie "The Brown Bunny"? It's got a really cool scene where he stops at Bonneville and runs by himself. Watch out though, there's some pretty graphic sex scenes.  :o

yeah, i was just reading in some street rodder mag or something about a guy going out for the first time in his car, and he noted how slippery it is. renews your respect for those who make the run.

ok, i can hear havoc already giving me the business. this should be in the drag race thread.

I went to bike week at Bonneville the last 2 years..
its nothing like sand, its blinding and you can get burnt from the ground up

also sand gets hot, salt is cool.

40th anniversary of the 750 this year, be embarrassing if one dont run at BUB this year.. lets at least ride a few out there.

Yeah, basically it's a porno about a motorcycle racer. I guess someone finally realized the whole 'pizza guy shows up with a pizza then has sex with the cheerleading squad' plot wasn't very plausible.

Not to go back to far, but this bike is sweet. I'm starting to look around to replace my Ducati. None of the Modern Hondas (available in the US market) really do anything for me. If this were to go into production, I might go back to Big Red. (I just fell in love with the Aprila Shiver 750, though...)

I don't mean physically like sand... I meant riding on the salt is like riding on sand. Or at least it's the closest thing I have found to it.

Help me find a 2 speed "boss hoss" trans and we might just see a comeback of speedway motorcycle racing.

I have almost all of it planned out. C'mon Bill...... you know you want to get on board.

I think the Boss Hoss trans is a shorty GM TH 350/400. If ya wanna go that route maybe think about a used rear engines drag trans, maybe Super Comp?

Then there's this:
