Anthony Hopkins/ Burt Munroe...

that movie made me ride my 25yr old 836, on its last long ride., and Bonneville was it..
It was down on compression, smoking, and making ill noises, but I figured if Burt could make it, Well.. be much easier for me to make it.. ;D... and I did.. great fun..

I got most of one of them Indian forks kicking around the shop & part of another.. every once in a while, I get these visuals in my head of a  wicked looking bobber/ bike hot rod..... but I have not quite yet figured how to frame it.. :o

Laugh all you want but it would have Webers and a magneto... no CRs or E-gnition, for that kinda bike..  ;D

It could be me... but I always associated the older BMW engines with WWI Airplanes.

They just have that look even in a steel tube chassis.

Quit teasing Old Timer... it was "The World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins...

I still want to know what the story is behind, "this guy's dentist built the bike."

Thanks for the links Ecosse, that was fun.  My father, whose 73 Norton was "my first bike"   also had the 100 year addition Indian... that was one rumblin' mother.  Went for a fantastic ride out on the front range flatlands in Colorado and realized when I got home my helmet wasn't fastened!   :o :o :o #$%*

I actually saw the Pink Taco yesterday Bill.

Coming along nicely and Duane is a great guy.

I was right that rear wheel is a HD stocker. There's almost 1000 hours in it so far.

Crazy.

Don't know about that. He hardly talks let alone posts anything on his creations.

It took me 20 minutes to drag anything out of him about the bike. And I know him.  :D

I still think it's going to be a horrible color. :P

ok, first get all cammoed up, paint face, the whole deal. then break into the garage and take detailed pix... ya might have to disassemble the bike a bit for this, then, when he's out of town (might have to stalk him to find out when) break into his home and rifle through his files and computer for any other useful info. if it doesn't look like he's gonna be leaving anytime soon just call him disguising your voice saying you're a doctor and his long lost (rich) uncle is in the hospital (in the next city) and he needs to see you right away. you can do it! just throwing out ideas here.

that color may look good depending on what he does with it. vision and faith my friend.  ;D

let me know how it all goes.
