I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Can't help with that scanner stuff but I have that issue and this bike is a beaut'! The guy deserves a slap on the back for such great work. Very nice.

Should have known you had the issue ;D  Really is a cool bike, the custom tree, and the pipes pretty much did it for me.  Not to mention the custom tail piece made from that cut-off BSA tank

Scan the magazine page at 300 dpi (full resolution) with the Descreen filter on (very important).

Then bring the image into an image editing program ~ try Picasa it's free.  Then downsample the image to 72 dpi, crop, and resize.  Sometimes this is called a save for web feature.
You can't make too much popcorn, but you can definately eat too much popcorn.
