yeah i agree.. about the kicker.... i think thats what attracts me to a magneto is the ability to create the spark with a transfer of muscle power.... but i love my kick it has bailed me out more times than i can count

Them Hawks, just dont stir me.. anything from Japan without a kicker does not hold my interest much..

Some cool bikes the STUdeNT Riders have there..

What really caught my eye tho, was the deep jaw combination vise mounted on looks like an old Ford axle housing.. :o Just  got one of them a few years back, made by Record.. cant find any info on it online & its not in late 80s catalogs..

Handy vises, check the brand if you can..

my teacher has some awesome seriously primitive tools. I rebuilt my engine on a big cart that looked like it should be on a railroad, he got it at the mint with some others. all kinds of other tools that are big, heavy and no longer made.

he has some seriously cool bikes, too. I'd take pics if he'd bring in a complete one. bultaco's and other cool stuff. tuesday is the last day. I'll see if I can wander around and get pics of all the good stuff. and the name of the vise.

is this rideable the way it is? can't see the front master cylinder, under the tank? some other bits seem to be missing, or well hidden. pretty damn cool.

I wonder if the brake pedal actuates both the front and rear? Just following the tubes.

from the looks of the front pic he has a bar end brake lever (i like) sooo i think they are seperate but then agayn maybe he can work both with either control ... but that may take away from the whole minimalist thing he has going. doesnt seem to get full contact with the rear rotor either.

Hey come on lets give the guy a brake. Its a work in progress and he just wanted to get out and ride it. His air filters and brake pads are on back order and his custom, fully baffled, exhaust is getting welded up in the shop. Or maybe he has great vision but lacks the follow through. :-\

Edit: Ah, I see, not an 1100, it's based on an 81 XV750 which looks like

Not the stretch I supposed. Still, nice work.
