I am quite Familiar with the HOREX marque..

My wife worked in the town they were built in, and lived in the next village. Her mother worked in the Horex plant after Diamler(M-B) bought it after Horex closed in the late 50's.

When I was over there I got to meet a guy that worked there. He has sinced passed on..He was a foreman in the machine shop , and told me of buyers coming from all over Europe to pick up their bikes.

I also got to meet a Horex collector, and he showed me his stash.. had some cool NOS parts and some bikes.. neat stuff.. He gave me a Horex pennant and a tool tag from the toolroom!

By the way.. the ones in the pics shown are probably Reginas from late 50s.. The really cool model is the 500 single from the late 30's.. it has the Biggest pipe I have seen on an old bike.. like 2 3/8 or 2 1/2 inches.. .. very cool bike..

Very nice.....What frame is that ?..

Mick
"It was built by Alan Bernard of Santiago Chopper in Tampa, Florida, using an original 70s Martin frame."
There's more specifics on BikeExif

Look at that - Long live the Satanic Mechanic site!

I'm thinking that frame may be rare

Ahhh, yes i am familiar with the martin frames, the top one is very much an Egli copy and the second one that has the Kawasaki engine looks like a later Moto martin frame,or just a later martin frame, not too sure if moto martin and martin are linked...

that's a very nice piece there!!  too bad it's still $100!  making a flat one yourself wouldn't be bad, but adding that upward swoop could be tricky.  so i guess for a nice clean piece, this will do the job nicely!

Agreed.. the price is a little steep! but i guess for some, that don't have access to meaningful tools to achieve as such.. It could be an option.
I myself.. am interested in the swooped or kicked up tail.. Have to see just how it fits into the budget first.. LOL
