I love this one!  And I really like the motor, very unique.  It's the Chrysler 331 I think, the first real Hemi.

Edit:  Just double checked, the 331(pretty sure the valve covers give it away) was the first Hemi.  Pretty neat motor, it's actually a bit oversquare.  3.8125 in (96.8 mm) X  3.625 in (92.1 mm).

I think most of the 'inspiration' went  from this thread a while ago.
It been a 'picture gallery' or blog  for months and should probably be 'locked'?

...... maybe it shouldn't be locked?  >:(
Perhaps you're partially correct in saying that a lot of the pics are a bit "bloggy" but it doesn't mean that some/a lot of us don't pick up some good ideas and inspiration -  in·spi·ra·tion   [in-spuh-rey-shuhn]
noun - an inspiring or animating action or influence

Anyway, what does anyone have to gain from it being locked?   ???

inspiration comes in many forms.. sometimes if the pics motivate someome to start..or restart building something.. then it has more than done its job...

I've got to vote with the majority on this one.  I may not personally get off on some of the so call "inspiration" occasionally posted but, if nothing else, we've got a couple thousand active board members bouncing around the Web bringing back things they think are cool. Where else will you find such a single resource?  Hell, I wish even more of our guys would post here, especially the Europeans who see such great vintage exotics.

Long live The Inspiration Thread!   :D   RR

There are 305 pages as I type.
The thread has already had one re-do (more posts per page?)
Has anyone actually looked at everything from day 1?
 Ever revisited early posts?
If there is something inspiring, you will have page bookmarked.
Personally,  I get idea's from all sorts of stuff, cars, bikes, machinery, aircraft, etc, but rarely see something I want to copy or emulate

PJ, all true. 305 pages is a little ungainly; however many of the pages are simply a rehashing of the original post with the photos unnecessarily repeated. Unfortunately, this site doesn't have a generalized Gallery with a thumbnail index where these types of photos can be uploaded and perused at one's convenience. Until the time that a Gallery is created, IMHO, this is one of the few generalized threads of broad interest where these types of photos can be posted.

Can you suggest a more elegant solution? Other than "throwing the baby out with the wash water"?  RR

I can honestly say I have looked at every page more than once. This is the only thread I follow with email notifications. Long Live this thread! If you don't like it stop looking at it.

Like Frank {754} said, inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes. There are bikes on here that are awesome and some i wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, but its horses for courses, I am  pretty sure this thread wasn't started to keep just one member happy..!!

Title says "Inspiration Gallery". When I signed on, it was one of the first threads I checked out, because I expected to see not only prime examples of what folks here on the forum were doing, but what they thought about other folks customs as well. It's kinda like a huge never ending bike show where someone will grab our attention over here for a minute, someone else takes us over there, and on and on. Mostly, we keep moving, but sometimes we stop and look at things more than once. Sure there's lots that I find more humorous or wtf, rather than inspiring, but on the other hand, if it exists here, someone was inspired to create it, and my hat's off to them in their expression of art. I'm a fan of custom vehicles of all descriptions, so I'm certainly not offended by seeing some well done hot rods here and there. It's not like that guy who was posting cars all over in the "Bikes and Babes" thread. Ya kinda expect a thread like that to be limited pretty much to bikes and/or babes. Maybe we should change that title to "Babes with Bikes" so there's less confusion. So, Thanks Spikey!! I've been inspired more than once on this thread, I think it's still doing it's job.
