I ran across this '58 Matchless twin street legal scrambler restoration this morning at the Pismo Beach donut shop Saturday gathering. The gentleman who brought it had just finished doing the restoration and was going to deliver it to the owner later in the day. He said the owner has a fairly extensive collection that this bike will be added to. He also said that even though this bike is completely restored including engine overhaul it will probably never be started again. What a shame.

The other night at our local vintage bike night in St. Louis there were 3 BSA bikes there owned by the owner of an old local motorcycle dealership. I don't remember which models each was exactly, but they all had some sort of significance. One was the first BSA his dealership ever sold new that he had tracked down and restored, one I don't remember for sure what it was, but the third was quite extraordinary. All three looked brand new, but this one actually was. It had never been started in the 40+ years of its life. Not once. It was unreal. I don't think I have that kind of self-control. I wish I had got a picture of it, but I was so in awe that I forgot. JeffSTL from the forum was there as well, he might have snapped one.
