You have the data to support that claim? Im not saying I disagree that these bikes are a bit more wild to ride and pose additional risk to their rider but if you are going to go so far to say its going to increase my insurance then I would like to see the supporting metrics. If anything is going to raise the price of insurance it will be the popularity and influx of new riders with limited riding ability, doesnt matter the bike they are on. Lets leave the insurance raising to the lovely cheaps buying/stealing superbikes to attack SUVs.

On a side note RR. I would like to give my condolences to your country for the soon to be decommissioned Holden UTE.

Not hard to work out cafe, you throw more bikes down the road and the premiums will rise...... I will admit, squids probably do more harm than these bikes....

We invented the UTE, how can they scrap it...!!!   indeed a sad day for motoring in Aus   :(

I agree with cafe elite. Some folks are so stuck on bikes that have to be near their expectations, that they cant see the biking  community for what it is..

I do not normally like modern sport bikes, but something about that gives me tingles....I think it's the gridwork of the rear frame section.

I think when people say that cant be ridden what they really mean is, "Iwould not want to ride that bike"
What about this..could it be ridden?.. How far ?

Put a 'chair' on it and some studded tyres and how far do you want to go?

That lower 3" of the radiator won't last a thousand miles before it is wrecked, bent, dirty and.....dang that looks expensive to fix.
The engineer or design school gradate that designed it should have been hit with a stick. " No, bad idea! No, now you go learn how a motorcycle works before designing any more garbage. Bad."

Just because you can design it doesn't mean it should be built.

As for that MH550J; It dose have a cut out of the tail section for tire clearance:

That being said, I'm not convinced it still wouldn't hit on a good bump.?

You're not into sportbikes are you?  Many manufacturers have been making 'em that way for many years with no issues unless you like to drive over giant rocks and curbs.  It's not a dirtbike.

these guys apparently live in my town but I have never met them or seen their bikes around anywhere except the web, and I know a LOT of the old bike guys in my area...they have been cranking out pretty high effort(although fairly tasteless imo) cafe builds every couple months and making these videos to try and sell them.  This GL looks like their best effort so far and the video didn't make me completely embarassed to be from the same town as these guys, as the others I have seen did...
If it works good, it looks good...

I would disagree, it meets the basic definition of a cafe, anyway close enough for my blood, no way that could be a chopper with out longer forks. Personally I just find it a slick mod no matter what you want to call it.

I'd call it a cafe,  a drag, or simply a custom... but never a chopper.
