I do agree the lines of the bike are nice, but they didn't do anything particularly interesting to the bike. The exhaust is useless and sounds annoying. The mono conversion is cool but why go to the trouble to then use stock forks cut down to drop the front where the pipes are dangerously close to the front tire, which may or may not be a step up from the Firestone vintage offering.

There is so much of this "Look at all the great stuff I cut off/welded on this bike!" but did you really help advance handling, braking, or acceleration? Cafe racers are about stripping down unnecessary items and increasing power output. This bike missed the mark.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

I like the mono shock idea and execution. To me the oversized front tire looks out of place and I would have tucked the exhaust under a little more and extended it back past the foot pegs, but it would have taken away from the look of the shock also. All I all though I think it was a pretty well thought out bike.

Just finished after a 2 yr resto., a CB350F last registered in 1979. Tore it down to the last nut and bolt, and went all the way thru it. Love these sweet little old SOHC 4's!

My apologies- I forgot about the little bike in front of the Olds. That's a '74 MT125 Elsinore. A fun little 2 stroke that I used as sort of a semi-resto warmup project before diving into the 350F.

Very nice! I remember now the XL's had plastic fenders. I'd like to get old school TL250 some day.

Just a "Hurst/Olds". It shared many of the same parts as a 442 but it was a distinct model, built by Hurst Performance and Olds to pace the 72 Indy 500. I've owned mine sine the early 80's. I call it the mistress and the bikes our illegitimate kids! Ha!

Screen shot from this week's Racer TV build.

I like the lines but it's impractical as hell not to have a headlight.

Not sure how a picture I took myself of my bike got on this site but thanks.  Just some details...
Bought new from Thriftylad Honda in Santa Monica, rode home and tore down...
'77 CB550F bored to 590cc using milled CB750 pistons/rings.
Head flowed by "Mama" Yosh.  Yes Mama not Pops.
Doubled up on base gasket to reduce compression.
Stock cam with S&W valve springs.
American Turbo Pak Header & Intake.
Exhaust fabricated by San Pedro Muffler
Modified Mikuni snow mobile carb.
IHI Turbo.
Dunstall Clip-ons (Micron)
1980 CB750 handlebar controls
Fiberglass front fender.
Dual front discs mounted reverse.
Modified Honda CBX tail section.
Kawasaki KZ1000 side covers.
ARD (Alan Richard D'Angelo) Magneto.
Boge-Mullholland Shocks.
Carol Shelby Wheels.
Paint by Steve Young of Crazy Painters (former employee of George Barris) who modeled the paint after his own Turbo CB750/1170 with side hack, known as "The Shadow"  BTW - Rare that any painter would model a paint scheme after one of their own personal creations.

There are a few things on this week's RacerTV bike that I don't care for (not a huge fan of the Coker tires, even though I admit they make a unique look; but I especially don't like how the pipes on both sides are cut to dump exhaust on both feet).  However, I really do like the lines of the bike and I LOVE the way they did the shock absorber.  I don't know how it compares functionally, but the shock being underneath the bike is really unique looking and fascinating to me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWOxP0Pl8m4

The underslung rear shock makes me think of the old Buell 'Blast' which i always thought needed at least an engine transplant  :D
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
I love the small ones too !
