Steel worker, got any info on the Harley JD with the white van behind it??
Looks a bit like the project bike I sent over there.. to HARRY HACKER.. he put it together and roadraces it all over the place..

Afraid not. It was sitting alongside the boardtrack racer I posted earlier.

Hey... I don't think think they came from the factory like that! :-\ ;D

I love it.

Posted before but with quote from Eurospares source. I like the spine frames.

"Here's an interesting spine framed bike. This was the "Reader's Special" featured bike in Performance Bikes magazine a few years ago (all I've got is the article which doesn't show the issue # or date). The photo is by Stills and Simon Everett. Tom Walker rolled sheet metal into 5" OD tubes to make the frame, and the frame holds fuel down to the level of the rear brake mastercylinder. The frame section under the seat is the oil tank. Wheels and forks are from an FZR600 Yamaha. The article didn't give the weight of the vehicle. "

Don't ask me why but this gives me some inspiration.

Not for the Seeley rep that I'm doing at the moment, but maybe the next one.

Inspiration for my next build:

I am currently building a 79 GS 1000 hardtail prostreet/chop/ bobber called the Dirty One, but I pull inspiration from these SOHC chops.  Here is a couple pics from my last project...

The hot thing in cars has been the Pro-Touring craze. I see a touch of that in many of these bikes.
Maybe we should build a Super Sport Touring? I'm thinking of a modern sportbike w/softened suspension and tuned for torque. Leave enough fairing to protect a comfortable riding position and enough power to keep it from becoming boring. JMHO

Am I to understand Sportster mills are one piece with gear box and that is what powers Buells?

Or do Buells make their own? I saw the frame and took a wild stab. ;D

Thanks for the link Shenanigans.

There is one there.  Seen it in an avatar today as well.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Sportster and Buell are unit construction, lower end and trans in same housing. (not counting latest Buells that will have Rotax engine)

Big Twins have trans seperate, but joined to engine by chaincase. Used to be they had a frame downtube going between engine and trans, but now most models dont, so they look a bit more like unit constriction, a bit harder to tell.

Big twins used to have one cam and the pushrods per cylinder form a narrow V.. the pushrod lines sort of run to the crank centre.
But...
now they have twin cams, so the pushrods are more parallel.

Sportster have 4 cams, so pushrods are further apart and fairly parallel per cylinder.

Someone help me out here; I think it was this thread where someone posted pix taken at a rally, show, race...? There was a bike with a mystery engine. I stumbled upon it again with a bit of info. This image is obviously period whereas the other post was recent.

It's a Konig. The engine is a two stroke four cylinder liquid cooled boat motor. Don't recall output but I'll dig it up if anyone cares. I'd like to know more of this and more/better pix too.
