No, Ecosse, it looks just like the CB500/550K frame in the attached pic.

Also, you asked for more shots of this beauty - yeah, I don't have a 550 but this bike makes me want to get one - so here ya go. The pics were taken by our own Nippon at a Euro meet last year.  Enjoy.   ;D   RR

God that's a sight! Is that a fork brace or part of the Brooklyn Bridge?! How do those race drums compare to a period disk?

It seems a 500/550 frame is too heavy as is and way too much if braced; if I ever crawl outta debt I'd love to see about doing a frame for the mid-sized SOHC's.

Whether that would be before or after a 400f based and twin based racer... or the super model girlfriend, is open to speculation.

Vox would know more about the forks. I believe they're in the Egli style and may be Egli forks.

The 230mm Grimeca is a relatively inexpensive brake compared with Menani, Ceriani or Fontana reproductions but it weighs a ton. Still, very impressive looks especially with the owner-added rear cooling screens.

I have both 750 and 500/550 frames sitting side by side. I am surprised at just how much shorter and lighter the CB500 frame is from the CB750.

Super model GF?  C'mon, what kind of biker are you?  Next thing you'll want is a BMW bagger.  ;D  RR

Aren't some of those drums magne$ium? I've been on some of these sites and the vintage parts are bar none the most pelvic stirring things I've seen in a long while. The tank on the one above is clearly different from the factory racers, what gives?

As for the heft of the 500/550 frame, that's why I like the idea of going 650 for my 550 for a better power/weight ratio than a stock 750. Or, something like that.

Super model? Not really, they have the figure of a 12 yr old boy. No curves! And bikers like curves... hubba, hubba.

BTW: I appreciate the education from those in the know!

This is neat.

So, I suppose we can expect a long wait for the second coming?

Yeah, I didn't look closely enough at that fairing and assumed it a Dunstall. What is that?

For the life of me I can't remember who, but someone on this forum is building a SOHC with similar pipes.

Re, the Egli brace.
I have a similar design on mine, a bit less rigid.

I offered several times on here to walk people thru building one in a simplified form, 90% of it can be done with a hacksaw sander & drill press.. Yet, no takers .. ???.. go figure!

How about post on the fabrication thread? I'm interested. Right now I want to keep my gaiters, gaters, squishy black thingys, but for future projects that tip would be a huge plus.
