I honestly prefer the Z1/KZ900 frame to the Thou.

Lighter (by only a few pounds) but basically the same design. a Thou fits in it as well with a little creative mount work.

Should be easy to find, but they weigh a metric ton.

It's a pretty standard draw through system. You've got an intake manifold connected directly to the turbo charger... which on the fresh air intake is a directly connected HSR24 Mikuni carburetor.

My buddy is a goof and slapped a Mr.Turbo air cleaner on there. Casting marks say RC.

Braided lines are external oiling lines. The KZ is notorious for lack of oil in the heads in HiPo applications. These help keep everything wet. (based on lots of trial and error.)

Fuzz-

Yessir the 1428cc's came from boring it. The block is a cast big block but has the same dimensions as the stocker. We just used bigger steel sleeves.

Without any tuning whatsoever it fired up and ran a 9.72 in the 1/4. After some tuning we've managed to get it down to 9.12. Now comes time to mess with gearing and such.

Not bad for a steel tube freight train eh?

Damn thats impressive, nice numbers! I see the carb now I think, connected to the turbo inlet (behind the filter). Didnt even think to have it there, never seen a setup that mixed the air and fuel prior to compressing it with the turbo.

yea I was looking at some tattoo's because I want to get a half sleeve on my right arm having to do with bikes. well this one came up on google. I ride dirt bikes and love bikes in general so a half sleeve having something to do with that is what I want.

Speaking of big bike tats..

a few years back 1080 & I would go down to this certain bike shop, called the ChopShop. every Sat afternoon to drink.... anyway the guy had a pic on the wall, full page from Easyrider mag of a fantastic tattoo..
Bucky will love this & some may remember;.....

pic of a rider in early gear on a stock knuckle.. very lifelike and accurate, cept the rider was a skeleton with the riding clothes on.

Anyway I am looking at it and I say, that a pretty cool tatto.. and Ron who owned the shop said.. "That's my Back!" then he turned his back to us and lifted his shirt.. Holy F%%$ that was a well done tattoo...

Yup - not a Springer, as the whole thing moves rather than just the front legs. I think it's an M33 BSA, same as the B33 but in the plunger frame of the M series M21. It should have telescopic forks on it, but the builder obviously couldn't resist the charm of girders.
Shows you don't need immaculate paint for a bike to look good huh ?

Girder fork huh. I learn something new every time I come on this forum. Also dod a search on google. And would be cool toi get a set of those forks. I like them a lot better then a springer now I see them.

Yep, technically they're actually better than telescopics as there's less change to wheelbase when girders are compressed compared to tele's.

Take a look at this shorter, stiffer set made for a more modern bike by frame/steering guru Tony Foale:
