It is a custom (chopper/bobber) v-twin. The last time he was in the news with this one was when he put gasoline in the oil tank (split tank oil and gas, 2 caps) and sputtered out a half a block from the gas station. Since then he usually rides a black Ducati monster. I would not be surprised if that is what he crashed out on.

Yup, looks like a Zero Engineering Bike. What a dumbass, he doesn't deserve a bike like that. We need Jesse James to kick his ass really soon.

Shinya Kimura is no longer at Zero Engineering, but they still make bikes in his style there. He now runs Chabott Engineering, and though the site is kind of strange, it looks like he's spreading out and building with more than just Shovel and earlier engines (I think there's a Z1 in the works on there someplace, and he's got a Triumph called the "needle" that's pretty interesting).

According to the owner: "..after removing the 1 1/2 inch layer of dust on a couple places, the tank still spakles underneith and even the various stickers on the frame still look like new, as does some of the chrome"

The first bike I had ( about 50 years ago

) was an Aermacci-HD Sprint with knobbies. What a miserable handling POS. I guess this builder is waaay more about style than substance, but I betcha it goes like hell through a cornfield!

Actually it would'nt..

Looks like ..looks ..way over function.. A full cigarette package would probably buckle the paint if not jam up the wheel..

Oh, and that that knobby looks good with the spool hubbed, upside down fork..

Nice to see no less bikebuilders on acid, than in the 70's

Hard to tell from this angle, but it may be running a "sprotor", a not-cheap sprocket/rotor combination..

I do kinda like the muted color combo though... Kind of neo-industrial farm implement whatever. RR

Dont know the guy, just thought it was a cool little bike that wasnt a "cafe".

"What you see above is the work of one Ian McElroy. It’s a render, done in SolidWorks, of a concept motorcycle that has a Subaru WRX motor at its core. With twin-intercoolers, underseat turbocharger, and a hub-steering chassis, the KickBoxer, as McElroy calls it, is an impressive looking machine, but what’s most impressive is that Ian didn’t know a lick of SolidWorks before he set out to make this design.

Learning as he went along, McElroy painstakingly had to battle with not only fitting a car motor into a bike chassis, but also with operating the SolidWorks software. The result is a tasteful and eye-catching design that promises some punch (couldn’t resist that) when you twist the throttle.

Surprisingly in the concept, the motor & transmission from the Subaru don’t look nearly as looming as one would suspect. In his design, McElroy uses both front and rear single-sided swingarms, with perimeter rim disc-brakes. Reminiscent of the Confederate Wraith, the overall effect of the KickBoxer is a sportier, and probably better handling street shredder."
