This beast was on display at the NHRA fall nationals here in Charlotte.  It has a Triumph 750 twin with the oil tank built into the frame.  The "forks" articulate at the two points circled in yellow.
It is a proven fact that modifying a SOHC Honda in any way will bring on the apocalypse.

That is a standard GSXR 750L 1990-1991.

It was the first model with upside down forks..

The model designation was "L"  here {down under} not too sure what it was on the US.
Didn't know it was a competition either or i may have put more entries in.... ;)

Hope you are feeling better mate..

lol here they aren't so different.

Suzi seemed to put a lot of effort in making the US models different on occasion. I couldn't remember if the GSX-R had UDS forks but I do know that the GSX-F Katana's and Bandits didn't have them until recently. I've had a few of that era and newer and they were all really similar.

I had the 1100J which was the last of the slab sided GSXR's, in the 750's the "J" model was the first of the new shape. The J,K,L models were basically the same with small changes in the engine, {stroke i think} and the "l" was the first 750 model with the upside down forks, i had a mate who raced one and i rode it several times and thats the reason i know this model well. We were the same with the GSX and bandit, the USD forks came a lot later in those models..

1980 Yamaha XS850G

In the 750 and 850 Triples (yes that's right... 3 cylinders) the clutch baskets were turned around on the shafts. This helped keep the width of the engine to a minimum as well as piss off the guys who had to change the plates.

I do like the exposed primary chain though. Easy to change if it breaks.  ;)

heh, heh.  Havoc gets around.

Watch yourself sister.... I'm moving faster and faster every week.  8) ;) ;D

OK I gotta ask... how tall is the dude that rides that chopper?

and just because someone built it doesn't mean it's rideable.

At least be your average sane definition of rideable
