Half a mill beautiful? I think for that kind of money, I would buy a big shop, and fill it with CB's.. perhaps a VT or two and at least one Fatboy! Then treat my friends to a round of drinks...

Guys that can buy a real Cyclone, already have nice shops, and dont buy their friends drinks, they take them on vacations, THEN buy them drinks.. :o

If you get lucky enough to own a Cyclone, you wont see a lot of others, maybe 6 -10 fairly complete ones.. I would take it over a big diamond or a painting, any day..
The Cyclone was a pretty advanced motor in its day, that would be the early teens.. a design that predated Ducati beveldrives by nearly 1/2 a century...

Made by Joerns Munufacturing, clever bunch..

I got to see one in 08, nice, very nice..

Oh, I get all that. I read the blog post about it. I believe it was a 1915 bike. I get how advanced it was.. just seems there could be a better use for that kind of money.. but then that is probably why I am broke all the time!  ;D

I had one of those Cyclones, but I rode it through the woods and crashed it, then I flew home on my rocket boots.

For true!  Especially a 350 cc 2 stroke.

I just don't understand the struts.

Yea with that seat and no springs to speak of, it must be murder on the back.. then again I am sure its not intended for road use, or a daily rider.. Still for 3k I would want to take it out a lot..

These 2 Stroke "smokers" are VERY powerful...especially when the power band kicks in at high RPM's.

The Kawasaki smoker triples are even MORE powerful.

Most who have rode them say that it is spooky the way the power hits at 5,000 or so RPM!

what the #$%* is the point of struts on otherwise stock geometry? i mean, i think struts are stupid anyway... if you're gonna hardtail it, just do it. but simply removing the springs for solid metal? retarded.

I agree with you that struts are kind of dumb but I think they do it so they can get that cafe style seat to sit right on the tire. It's something I can't see myself doing, ever.

It's my understanding that the fitting of struts implies use on a drag strip, where complete rigidity is required to maintain straight line stability.

Agreed, on a road-bike it's a ridiculous affectation.

My Father inlaw's brother has a Kawasaki 2-stroke 750 triple, it's all stock and it's pristine.
I'll try to get some pictures on here as soon as I can but it might be a while.
I'd try to get him out riding with us in the spring, but that bike seems like more of a museum piece although it lives in the garage.

From what I hear, the first year 1969 Kawasaki 500 Triples in restored condition were going for 10 grand before the market took a dive. :-\

Imagine...10 grand for an old kawi middleweight! :D

Go to YouTube, there is some seriously cool smoker vids on there!

I think a really good 69 500 will go for a LOT more than that..

A guy I know has a 70, nicer than new, with 40K on it, had it since new. Then he started colecting parts, finally when he found a 69 frame and got reggie he was able to start building a 69... that is around 70% or better NOS parts.. :o. I  doubt it would bring less than 15 K, probably more..

He is not on the net, so Probably the bike is not that well known, but it is probably along the lines of a Vic World bike.
