Nice, Would the gel or drill battery last a lot longer if one were to stick to kickstarting only?
Looks like a good way to de crease the electrical bulk.
Yes, The only time the battery would go dead on you would be if you tried to start it more then a few times in a row.. If you kickstarted it you should not need to charge it as it will charge fine as you ride even with the headlight on, at least that is my understanding..

That Wrenchmonkees bike has the oil tank housed under the seat hump. I'm not sure if there is enough room to have the tank, battery and electronics under the seat. Unless of course they scaled the tank way back in capacity.

im still trying to figure out how to get that ugly oil tank out of view. can the oil tank be scaled down, and if so, how much?
don't take me too seriously.

You can but its not recemended I forget why but one of the reasons is the tank helps cool the oil. That battery is under the seat hump, and so is the oil tank, both are very thin and almost on top of each other. Some one posted some info on it a while ago as they saw it in person. I forget who..

yes....I got my battery from OrientExpress.com.  It is called a "A123" battery.  Works fine, and recharges through the stock bike charging system.  I ran mine down bad.....I put it on my battery tender for 2-3 hours today, and it jumped right back up!

They are PERFECT for a Cafe bike, IMHO.

(not so sure any pics of my bike should have made this thread....this is the dream bike thread, not old, tired CB550's thread)

Hush up you, your bike is far from an old tired CB550, I am sure others would agree..  ;D
Besides it was the only one that came to mind as an illustration of what I was talking about.

Everyone is so nuts about that bike....withthe exception of the wheels (which are 2003 H/D V-Rod rims I believe)....the rest of the bike is no different than MANY of the Cafe 750's on here.

It's a nice bike, but not really innovative.

It's a bsa in the middle, It's probably a BSA A7 plunger with not much alterations done to it apart from the obvious. frame could be stock. it looks like a stock oil tank

WTF?   ::) ::)

Its a 1950~55 BSA A10.
 Looks like a Royal Enfield tank, possibly off 'new' 500.
Don't recognise forks although they look 'light' enough to be 1920's BSA.
 I really should get some of my projects finished and start on mine
