I've never really checked out the dotheton forum, but I may be doing a lot of that in the future!  This is the coolest bike I've seen in a long time.

Be Careful!  I followed the link above and ran into a mess of anti-virus warnings that might be an automatic forward from this link at DoTheTon.  I shut down and am running a McAfee scan now. So far no viruses found... YMMV.  ???   RR
Yea, I clicked the link and the it came up to a bogus screen, see image below. Its funny really because if you look closely I am using Linux, and yet it tells me that my "Windows" is infected..lol

edit: I clicked on it again and it worked fine.. So its some redirect issue (probably an ad) on the dotheton site. This is why I hate Ad's ..

Love the addition of the rear fender.  Functional, simple to add and it looks good.

Yeah, I love just about everything about that bike.  The tail light, the headlight/tach combo, the fender, the monoshock, the way the lines of the seat and tank follow each other, it's just really really cool.  I really like that tail light.

If I had to make one critique, it would be that the rear fender doesn't quite seem to match the radius of the tire.  But hey, he could probably fix that in a jiffy if he wanted to.

i hope that spring is really stiff back there.... he only has 4 inches or so of travel before that fender is going to hit the seat.  :o  with a swingarm that long, maybe he's dragracing it?

here is a bike I am using for inspiration for a BMW I just purchased. BTW, does anyone know where I found these. I want to go back and see if there is a build thread.

Paul from Flashbackfab, is the Brodie from Brodie Bicycles!

He has been doing some bits for an old riding buddies street XR 1000.
I got some really cool blue anosized triple trees from him a few years back, cheap, came off his Vincent.. I should check if they fit them GPZ legs I got.. otherwise I was thinking.. chopper bicycle wideglide.. ;).. they got the cool ELS sticker on them "Expensive Lightweight Sh!t"

 Paul builds nice stuff..

Ditto I was kinda wondering what he meant to.  I don't know many newbs who make a enter bike from scratch and what did the oil have to do with anything.

I am going to try to put a fender like this on my cafe bike

I was at the bookstore the other day and perusing the motorcycle stuff and saw a good trick when mocking up a fender.  The author used an old rubber toothed drive belt laid on top of the tire, then laid the fender on top of that.  Gave him a nice tight gap to work with, and since it's rubber it doesn't want to slide off the tire.  The one above would've benefitted from this given the little space he's working with.

i've seen lots of builders lay some vinyl tubing on top of the tire, that's what i did with my steel fender on my spirit 750.  and you can get a bunch of sizes to play with spacing.  just throw that and some tape around the tubing and tire, and you're good to go!
