Here is a bike by our lead designer @ Polaris for Victory motorcycles....based off the Vegas/Kingpin frame. Polished raw tank clearcoated and custom seat and base.He may be changing out the pipes to straights but im not sure when.

I read about that bike, first time I've seen real pics though.  Looks production ready.   Stick fenders on it and she's done.

i like that victory too, but i'd like a little rounder and taller front tire on there, drop the rim size down an inch.  i don't like the tall skinny harley rims/tires...

Thats his personal bike ....you may be refering to this one VICTORY CORE. I had the opportunity to co direct the photo shoot for this bike and these are some pics I took myself during set up. I should have shared these long ago but forgot I had them. I have a bunch so i may drop more in as time passes.

The polished tank Victory..
The headlight is really hurting it..

Move it back into steering head as much as you can, cut the back off if need be.. smaller diameter would look better...

Are you refering to two different bikes?...one is polished and Black...dont see any tan on that, not sure i should move a light on a bike i dont own. If your refering to the "CORE" bike it is a cast 2 piece frame not polished with a brown leather seat and as for the headlight on that one, doesnt get much smaller without being totaly useless. Look at it in profile view and the light (as little as there is) is as far back as you could possibly get it. Let me know which bike your refering to.

..you can get much more now for next to nothing if you look around and find a titled and complete bike to start with..

its a good point, Especially when i see some of the projects that people complete on this site and others. You can do a lot even with something as simple and classic as the CB750. Like rustRockets Bobzilla project had me drooling earlier today.

Its hard to resist the classics sometimes, Thanks Joe ;)

nice!

honda ain't shabby either. i like the colors. and thanks for the link!

just speaking for my self the light as seen on the polished tank bike is a wee bit longish. but i realize that's the victory style. would have to see it in the flesh to make a proper judgement i suppose.

HAHA then Victory Nailed it,Thats whay its called "CORE" its whole idea was bare essentials tank, engine, tires, seat and i miss quoted myself. the seat is accually exotic hard wood...the tank is a cast of the frame so there is no seperate tank anthe second cast piece acts as engine mount. this version is a hard tail as you can see. One person can break this entire bike down in about 30 minutes. those were "glam " pics i took...here is a link to get a more complete story

The box on the front of the motor..., is not helping it at all.. just looks like an afterthought..

if it had downtubes, then it would fit together, and work with it.

I like a lot of the boardtrack style, but this looks like it cant decide what it wants to be.. .... jmo..

me no like the box thing either but i do like the minimalist spine frame inspired design. wood seat, cool. cast gas tank, cool.

exhaust looks beneath the level of the rest of the bike though. j.c. whitney exhausts tips anyone? exile choppers pipes would be an improvement. sorry.  ;D

overall, i like it.

Just incidental in that video is a stripped down Vincent Black Shadow

and tracking into the LA Times a bit this photo emerges
http://articles.latimes.com/2009/may/09/business/fi-vintage-bikes9

"The current craze has its seeds in the Guggenheim's Art of the Motorcycle show that toured the world in the late '90s. Showcasing hundreds of bikes from motorcycling's history, the exhibit broadened the public's view of a sport that, at the time, was dominated by Harley-Davidson cruisers and Japanese sport bikes."

That's probably not wrong  ;D

this thread grows faster than I can keep up. I'm just at around pg 100. I keep getting stuck on reading comments instead of just lookin at pics.

here's some that I have taken at school. I take a moto engine class at ccsf.

this is a student or teacher's (hard to tell sometimes) badass hawk gt650, I always liked this bike, it was out before the monster but didn't sell well. so only produced a couple years. Honda, always ahead of the times, made a killer naked before there was a category. with an, at the time, revolutionary frame, single sided swingarm and killer offset rear wheel, etc.

another student had one of these, but modded out. I saw the engine out and apart, it is all incredibly compact, the bike's guts are very dense. this one is beautiful. the guy in the background is a friend from school.

the next one was built by a buddy in class named, believe it or not, Harley. he was rebuilding a cb500t engine, but rode this one to class. it's some type of Kawi, with wild Indian style fenders, lots of welding on the frame and a cool BMW headlight. everything done in gloss black. looks very classic and complete. I dig this one, and he rides it daily.

last is a brand new V7 classic guzzi. a student had just bought this one from the dealer. I like the black and gold version. it's pretty modern inside with fuel injection and meeting euro3 standards for emissions, mileage.

you can see my girlfriends bike in the background. a ninja 250 that's super fast, light and fun. I rode it to school that day. I did the paint job on it.

here's another of the 250, it was beat to #$%* when we first got it, cracks all over and flat black rattle can paint on everything. took some work, but I really like the design of the stripes and how they make the bike look better, faster ;). I'm supposed to add some kanji to the lower fairing at some point. after I finish a million other projects...

Them Hawks, just dont stir me.. anything from Japan without a kicker does not hold my interest much..

Some cool bikes the STUdeNT Riders have there..

What really caught my eye tho, was the deep jaw combination vise mounted on looks like an old Ford axle housing.. :o Just  got one of them a few years back, made by Record.. cant find any info on it online & its not in late 80s catalogs..

Handy vises, check the brand if you can..
