Its Like a Brat Racer....

I think the "brat bike" look is starting to grow on me. But like one of those things you DON'T want a doctor to remove. ;D

My buddy is now working on this -   A bit of background - it will be featured on some episodes of "Cafe Racer" tv show.    It has a swing arm and shock assembly from a Yamaha Seca.   He also was able to scrounge a brand new set of CR carbs.  The motor is an 836.   The bike is a 69 that was purchased from the original owner who got to watch the filming/deconstruction of his bike.

This is the sketch, but the final product will have spokes with some wider than stock aluminum rims laces to dirtbike hubs.   Can't believe I haven't seen this paint scheme on a cafe bike yet....    Not sure when the episodes will air.

Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Exactly what I'm talking about! No idea. Maybe there's some diffuser discs that don't show up in the pics very nicely? SuperTrapp style?

It looks like there is exhaust stain behind the 'plug'.  Probably some kind of home made diffuser.

I really have enjoyed looking through this thread. There is more creativity in this thread than in most art galleries.

Fun Jimmy is a hard act to follow, but here's another 750 that was at the Joints Custom Motorcycle Show in Japan a few days ago.

If anyone can figure out what size tire & rims those are shoot me a PM will ya.   Also see if you can tell what triples and fork lowers are on it.

Me likey.

dont quote me on this, but it looks like  gold wing triple trees/ forks/brakes  with a rear 750 rim and tire laced to a front hub.    i've got all the parts to do the same to my bike but i'm not sure about lacing the rear rim to the front hub.

don't take me too seriously.

They're definitely not GL1000 pieces; Goldwing front ends have dual rotors and the caliper behind the fork leg, not in front. They also had thicker fork tubes than the CBs of the same era...the forks in the photos look too thin and close together to be Goldwing pieces. Looks like stock CB750 with a fat tire to me. Whatever it is, they're sure pushing the limits of clearance. Looks to be about 1/8" between the tire sidewall and the fork lower. CB750 rear rim laced to the front? Could be...

Who cares?
As noted, fat tyre show bike, probably too expensive to actually ride (anyway, it's an automatic  ::))

The forks look like CB750A forks to me. They have a longer lower that the "K" forks. Triple trees and turn signal mounts also look to be from the Automatic.  IMHO...

The rear looks like a 3x16 drop-center Harley to me.  Not sure about the front rim; I've had a hard time locating a narrow (2.15 - 2.30) 40-spoke 16".  Anybody got any suggestions?  RR
