How about how the prices for the CBs are skyrocketing! I mean a year ago that bike might have gotten 1000, maybe a bit more.

Now it still has 5 days and person actually went for the 1700 clam bid! At this rate, a cb will cost as much as a new ride! Character costs a lot I guess and many of todays bikes have none.

Do you mean far off in distance, price, or both?

That bike was never a $1000 bike on ebay in the last 4 years.. IMO

The "small stuff" may not be much to worry about, but if the bike is mechanically sound (which it may or not be, "a little oil" can be a big deal or a little deal), then the only thing pushing the price up after that is cosmetic perfection.

Obviously this bike is less that pefect cosmetically, yet it is still bringing in the price that a bike is good cosmetic condition brings.

I hear ya, as tight as I am I wouldn't go that high unless I could eyeball it direct and, the big kicker, had the money
after buying fuel for a week.

less than perfect = good everyday rider @ less money.

It is a 71, 3rd most desireable IMO

If it were a 74 & later.. not worth it.. to me..

last of the headlite ears painted, old ones, with easier to live with carb linkage, plus lights in tach/speedo. I would rather have one of them to ride than a sandcast..

Looks sorta like my first.. gold 72..

754, there really wasn't much difference in the 72. I had a 71 my buddy had a 72 a long time ago.
But, if a 72 was a 71 I'd take a 72.  ;D ;D ;D That's the reason I'm looking for a 71 (first bike thing ya know).

There is not a big diff, but there is less 71s than 72s I am thinking, and the flavor is older.

They may have 300,s (not sure)
have earlier style instruments, 1 year only, + painted ears
(72 has 1 year onlys, the best chrome ones IMO)

no dash, has clamps, , so looks a bit earlier, early type stripes on tank

no seat lock I think.

Just a bit earlier & harder to finder.. the later they got the easier theyy are to come by.

I think a G-note is the price for a CT-70 of that vintage..
