CB350 - which Carb rebuild kit?
« on: March 31, 2008, 11:46:46 pm »
My '73 CB350F is going to need a carb rebuild as I've adjusted valves, replace plugs and points, but continue to foul plugs 3&4.

Y'all have any kit recommendations; K&L, Keyster, Sudco?

Also, should I plan to do all four carbs since they'll be off the bike?

Thanks!

Why don't you go original? Honda still have them, and chances are they are cheaper than aftermarket.

The OEM gasket kit often has more of what you need than the aftermarket sets. Unless you have an unusually high-mileage bike, the metal parts should be reusable. The jets and needles included in the aftermarket kits are reputed to be of questionable quality. You will not hear many members bragging about how they Keystered a set of carbs. :o (even sounds painful, doesn't it?)

I'd do all four and not wonder when 1&2 are going to start acting up - they all get the same fuel from the same tank.

Happy trails.

keyster are ok if you dont use the air screws.... i did and they are made of brass, when i screwed them in the spring took shavings off the screw and clogged the carbs again!!!, use oem if you can superior quality.

I used Keysters also. Didn't have an issue with the air screws, but I thought the slide needles looked to have a slightly different profile than the old ones, so I cleaned them up and reused them.

Thanks folks. I'll be looking to get the Honda complete kit for all 4 carbs. Bikes got 14k miles and it's time to get some fresh jets inside the carbs. Now if I can just muster up the wherewithall to dig into 'em :-\

I wasn't aware that Honda still had a "carb kit" for the 350F. If you find them Frappy I'd appreciate it if you can post the Honda part #.  8)

 Thanks, Matt.
