How to cross-reference a part?
« on: April 01, 2008, 08:08:07 AM »
I was offered a deal on a 1983 DOHC CB650SC Nighthawk. It looks like it may have a bad stator.

Called Honda, they said the part number is 31120-ME5-005 and is $291... and over $400 for the complete alternator (part # 31100-ME5-005). Might not be the deal I think it is if a stator or alternator needs to be replaced. And/or having to buy a rectifier-regulator too?

How do I cross reference this part to find out what other bikes it was used on? I'd like to see if I can find a used one. Thanks.
